-baptism-

on sunday was baptism sunday and the message by Pastor Rob was ver encouraging and made it clearer of the importance of baptism...
here's a short summary of wat i picked up...

baptism came from the greek word "to dip"

1) we declare to be owned by Jesus -> we are baptised 'in the name of Jesus' which sets up a relationship of belonging (Galatians 3:26-27)

2)being cleansed from sin

3) no longer living a life withour regard to God--> when held under water, die to our old life and when emerge from water, start of a new life ( Romans 6:1-4)

4) determination to be sure of transformation in character(Isaiah 52:1, Col 2:12)
